Carbon dioxide laser is a type of gas laser that uses carbon dioxide gas as the working substance. It has relatively long wavelengths, with three generated wavelengths: 10.6μm, 10.2μm, and 9.3μm, among which 10.6μm is the most common.
The 10.6μm wavelength is suitable for most common marking, engraving, and cutting applications;
The 9.3μm wavelength is applicable to PET materials, which are usually used in rigid packaging (especially water bottles or beverage bottles), polyimide (Kapton) films, FR4/FR2 printed circuit boards, Pebax material medical pipes, etc.;
The 10.2μm wavelength is suitable for applications such as polypropylene films (OPP, CPP, PP) commonly used in labels and packaging, as well as glossy paperboard packaging with a layer of polypropylene material on the surface.
